2013 Twin Cities Snowshoe Shuffle
The 8th Annual Dash in the Snow
5K & 10K Run/Walk
Saturday, February 2nd, 2013
Long Lake Regional Park
New Brighton, MN

The Twin Cities Snowshoe Shuffle (TCSS) is the biggest snowshoe race in Minnesota!  Participants come from around the country to participate in this fun and challenging winter race. The TCSS is the 3rd largest regional qualifier for the US Snowshoe Association's 2013 Dion National Snowshoe Championship race.

The race is also part of the Braveheart Series, a free series that allows racers to earn points and win free prizes.

There are 4 courses: a 5K and a 10K track set up for the racers, a 2k dog walk, and a "fun run" course set up for the kids! Awards are given to the top 3 men and women finishers in each of 7 age categories, which are listed on the registration form.  The race will be officially timed.

Not that serious?  This event is fun for people of all ages and abilities.  Walking or running with snowshoes is a fun and healthy activity. The TCSS is a great opportunity to get outside with your friends or family!

Proceeds from the 2013 TCSS are used to provide scholarships for children to attend Camp Bovey, a summer camp.  Camp Bovey's mission is to provide a safe place for youth to have fun while participating in outdoor activities that help build respect for themselves, one another and the environment.

NEW THIS YEAR: Canines for Camp - 2K Dog Walk

Since the Twin Cities Snowshoe Shuffle's inception, we have noticed an increasing turnout of racers with dogs. Racers will still be able to run or walk in the snowshoe race with their dogs, but we created a sub-event for dog lovers that is less competitive and more relaxing, but still a great way to get exercise for owners and dogs during the cold winter months. Each participant will receive a gift bag with dog items as well as a race shirt.

REGISTRATION: $35 entry fee, $40 after January 18th, ($20 for students aged 13-23) and $25 for the dog walk allows you to participate and includes an event shirt and chili lunch after the race. Snowshoes will be available for rental. Register on Active.com.

PACKET PICK-UP:
Before the race: Avoid race-day lines and check-in early!  You can get your race number and confirm shoe rental.  Packet pick up is on Friday, February 1 from 5-7 at East Side Neighborhood Services.

On Race Day: The race starts at 10:00am, but packet pick-up starts at 8:00am.  We encourage you to arrive early to give yourself plenty of time to pick up your race number (and snowshoes if you are renting) and stretch and warm up before the race.

RACE RESULTS: While the race has been run since 2006, race results are available online for the following years:
20102011, 2012

LODGING: For out-of-town racers, we have reserved a block of rooms at the Homewood Suites by Hilton.  The hotel is offering a special rate and is located less than a mile from the race. Contact the hotel at (651) 631-8002 for details.

The Twin Cities Snowshoe Shuffle honors the memory of Joe Holewa, event co-founder and a lifelong snowshoer up to age 87.
